PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK
The Academy is proud to announce that our Summer 09 show will be Picnic at Hanging Rock. This musical written by Bob Tomson (Director of Bood Brothers, Evita and Scrooge) is based on the film. With many parts a spine tingling script, dance and super melodies this musical is just right for presenting the talents of our students. Bob Tomson will be workshoping with the students and bring his years of West End experience to Academy. During the first half term we will be expanding your skills and introducing you to the characters so that all students will be ready to audition after the half term break. Full commitment is required to work with Bob Tomson and make this the best production yet of this fantastic musical. READ MORE

TENDER DEADLY VOICES - ANOTHER MIDAS
The Academy supplied the children for Harper Ray's amazing production at South Hill Park. Aedan Day, Laura Hannawin and Eleanor Bruce were orphan children and enjoyed appearing in this critically aclaimed work. Audience members start their journey seated at tables in a fisherman's tavern, where they are regaled with salty tales of shipwrecks past, before the operatic Sirens call you to the shores of the lake where the rest of the gothic myth unfolds in mythic proportions.

South Hill Park - TITANIC the Musical
An ambitious production! We turned the Wilde into a ship!
Using all the tiers and a flat floor in the stalls as our playing space. A real challenge as everyone was on show all the time. The vocals were great and the emotion ran high. Once again Acadmey is good at tragedy. This is a fantastic musical for us as there are so many parts ideal for the talent at RBAPA. The cast spent a lot of time researching the era becoming experts on why and how Titanic sank and the class structure that affected their characters. We sold out on two days in our first show at the Wilde Theatre.
