The Hanging Rocks.

 The music ..provides challenging and interesting chorus and solo pieces ranging from strong company numbers and haunting ballads to contemporary aboriginal-based songs for the Watchers

the dance...the Watchers never leave the stage. Their menacing dance and movement reinforces and enhances the story every step of the way

We are very pleased to have Picnic at Hanging Rock as our summer musical. It is perfect for Academy with over 35 girls and boys parts, challenging acting, original music, great costumes and for the first time dance is featured all the way through the musical. We are also pleased following on from the triumph of Titanic that we are back at the Wilde Theatre 22nd - 25th July 09 with it's expansive stage just right for doing justice to this epic musical.

Auditions
We have been watching the students closely over the technical part of term (first 6 weeks of term) and they have been advised that this is an ongoing assessing period (no pressure). They will have a chance to listen to the music and learn about the characters before the audition day first day back after half term 28th Feb. Provision will be made if anyone has to be absent on that day. The auditions will be held in professional mode and during our technical classes we are covering how to audition.
